Benjamin | 5 Month Update

My sweet baby is now five months old, how did this happen! Next month he will be half of a year old and I'm not ready for that!

How can I only pick one photo of him!

Likes: watching his siblings play, nu-nus, bath time, chewing on his tongue

SLEEP

Sleep is just so hit and miss. Benjamin is definitely not sleeping through the night. He goes to bed between 7:00 and 7:30 depending on how our evening is going and he has been waking up somewhere between 10:00 and 11:00. After that he's up again at in a couple of hours and a couple of hours after that. This pattern continues until morning leaving this momma extremely tired and living for her morning cup of coffee! He also is resisting sleeping in his dockatot preferring instead to sleep next to me. It's so strange because he goes to bed fine there at the first, but once he wakes up at 10:00/11:00 he doesn't want to go back to sleep there.

I have always been bad about doing a nap schedule with my babies at this age and that continues with Benjamin. He basically naps on the go and whenever or where ever he falls asleep.

EAT

Benjamin continues to be exclusively breastfed. He nurses on demand through out the day (and really through out the night also). Benjamin continues to nurse every two to three hours throughout the day.

7:00/7:30 Wake up

9:00/10:00 First Nursing Session

11:00/12:00 Nurse

11:30/12:30 Possible Nap

1:00/2:00 Nurse

4:00 Nurse

4:30 Possible Nap

5:30/6:00 Nurse

7:00 Nurse

7:15 Bed

DEVELOPMENT/PLAY

1/28 grabbing his legs and trying to roll over

1/29 found his feet

Is able to rotate himself in a circle while either on his back or belly

2/8 sat unassisted for about a minute

2/10 used /b/ sound
2/14 celebrated his first Valentine's Day

2/17 moved to size 3 diaper

2/19 moved to 9 month jammies

He likes to chew on his tongues

Will make a growling sound

Is sitting unassisted for longer periods of time (still kind of uses his arms to support himself, but will self correct if starting to fall over some)

2/25 was doing a plank (lifting his body off the ground trying to move)

2/27 Rolled over

Benjamin started grabbing his legs and trying to roll at the beginning of the month. He is really trying to get himself moving. He is rotating in a circle and trying to lift himself off the ground by doing little planks. And finally on the day he turned 5 months old he rolled over from his back to his belly!

Benjamin found his feet this month and it is so cute! He loves to grab onto his feet and legs and roll around!

He has started to sit up unassisted for short periods of time. He still uses his arms to support himself sometimes and will self correct if he starts to fall over a bit.

Oh my sweet Benji-Man, how is time going by so quickly! I want to bottle up your sweetness and keep it forever! You are just the happiest baby I know and always have big smiles for people when we are out and about. You love watching your siblings play and have laughed out loud with some big belly laughs just watching things they are doing. I love watching the love you have for them grow. I can tell you want to get up and get moving with them so badly! You found your feet this month and love to grab onto them and you finally rolled over from your back to your belly! I'm so proud of you! I can't wait to see what this next month has in store for you!
