Weekly Highlights | February 2-8

9:29 PM

Happy Saturday!  Another week has come and gone and it has been a busy one!

Sunday

We started off the week going to church.  We made it to the 8:30 service and Geep decided to join us. William, James and Ellie were excited to show Geep the donuts, juice and muffins.  While the boys were getting donuts after church James found a donut with pink icing and it happened to be the very last one.  William had really been wanting a pink donut and had been talking about it for a couple of days.  When James saw that William was upset about not getting a pink donut he chose to give William his donut and pick a new one.  It was so sweet to watch James try and comfort William and give him the donut.

After Church we came home to watch the super bowl.

Ellie and her Geep, She loves him and cuddles next to him as often as she can!

Grambie and Geep brought Ellie a bathrobe and she loves it!

My mom brought a sweatshirt that used to be mine to give Ellie for her baby doll, but before we gave it to her I had to try it on Benjamin!

Sitting on the counter with Mommy!  I always sat on the counter when I was growing up talking to my mom or dad in the kitchen and find myself doing the same thing now whenever they come to visit.  This time Ellie joined me!

Monday

The boys had swim lessons on Monday and they went well.  I had been concerned because their group for lessons wasn't going to be the same, but two new little boys joined their class and they all got along really well.  Will and James continue to try more and more, showing more confidence.

William has started jumping in the pool while holding onto his teachers hands.  I'm hoping he'll start trying to jump without holding her hands!

Ellie joined Geep, Benjamin and I on a walk and she got to play at a park along the route!

My Birthday isn't until March 1, but my parents won't be here so they wanted to celebrate while they were in town.  The kids were excited to help me open my presents!

Tuesday

Tuesdays are school days and the boys were off in the morning, we all took the trip down to their school to drop them off and then Ellie, Benjamin, Grambie, Geep and I stopped at Panera on our way home.  It was fun just to sit, enjoy coffee and a bagel, chat and talk about having fun on our next move in about a year and a half.

After school we all went out for a walk.  The kids did great, the loops we went on is about 2-2.5 miles.  They took turns riding on the balance bikes and walking.  They played at a park and only rode in the stroller for the last little leg home.

This is how I found them watching tv together.  They are so funny together.

This happy little guy!

Wednesday

The boys had speech and swim lessons in the morning on Wednesday.  The boys are making progress in their speech already, at least during their sessions, even though they've only had a few therapy sessions.  Will and James had another good day at swim lessons and by the end of the lessons James even left the stairs, baby steps my friends!

When we got home from our busy morning Will, James and Ellie found some wild flowers growing around our house and decided to pick them for Grambie and Geep.  (They had gone out exploring down to Big Sur for the afternoon). Will and James kept asking me why they went out "nature hunting?" and why we didn't go with them.

These flowers are still going strong in two vases of water on our kitchen counter

Thursday

On Thursday the boys went back to school in the morning and Ellie, Benjamin, Grambie and Geep and I came home.  I spent the few hours while they were in school cleaning up their room.  After school we went down to Carmel and ended up running into our friends.  It was a beautiful day walking around and playing in a park.

Geep snapped my picture with Ellie and Benjamin.  I'm so rarely in pictures with the kids that I love getting any pictures I can!

Friday

Friday was a day of nothing.  We had nothing planned to do and thats basically what we did.  We spent the morning at home and then spent the afternoon at the park.  We found a new park right near our house and the boys and Ellie love it! And I love it too!  The boys call it the construction site park because part of the park has sand and toy diggers.

After getting home from the park Grambie and I went out to Kohls together for a little bit, and Benjamin came a long for the outing. It was so much fun getting out and shopping with my Mommy!  I love getting to spend some quality one on one time with my mom.

We went out to dinner for a little Friday night fun.  We don't take the kids out to eat very often so it was exciting for them to get to eat out.  We didn't go out anywhere special just The Habit burger place, but they loved getting out.  I think I need to start taking them out more often to give them opportunities to practice eating out.  I used to take them out more when Will and James were little but I've slacked the older they've become and the more children we've had!

William asks me most evening to sit and stay in his room while he falls asleep.  And on Friday he waited for a while and then came out to ask me to sit while he fell asleep.  Once I went into his room he fell asleep within a few minutes of me sitting down.  Whenever one of the boys asks me to sit in their room while they fall asleep I do because at some point they aren't going to ask me any more.

Saturday

Saturday was another day we spent at home.  It was a beautiful day out so we went out to the park again.

I came across this knot cap while doing laundry and had to put it on Benjamin.  This hat is one that I was given when I "graduated" from the infertility clinic when I was pregnant with Will and James.  This hat has a lot of sentimental value and I love seeing it not only on my newest baby, but I got Will to put on the other one and it still kind of fits!

How comfy does he look?!  There's nothing like a sleeping baby!

Grambie and Geep stopped by the park and played a little while they were there!

Benjamin was sitting unassisted for about a minute after I propped him up!
