Weekly Highlights | January 26 - February 1
9:59 PMIts time to recap the week again! Doing these weekly recaps really makes me feel like time just flies by. I know I have years with my children but how quickly these weeks pass makes me feel as those these times with them are fleeting.
We started off our week going back to church. Sunday was the day the never ended I felt like. It wasn't a bad day just a day that was extremely long for some reason. So after getting home from church at only 10:00 we had lots of time to the day left. The kids asked to have their tv time earlier in the day than usual so I allowed them but when it was done I thought we should head outside for a bit but the boys were too excited about going outside. So I went onto Pinterest and found some print out for a nature scavenger hunt. I showed this to the boys and it turned their attitude around about going outside. So off we went on a scavenger hunt. It was lots of fun and the kids really got into it. After completing our hunt we met some friends from the boys school at the park.
Monday the boys had swim lessons again and the boys are slowly making progress and becoming a little more confident in the water. We tried a new ice cream place after lessons and at one point all of the kids decided to sit a table by themselves without me. When they did this it made me think about how there is going to be a time when they will much rather spend time together without me. And while I hope that time is a long way off I do hope that when it comes they are close to each other and love spending time together!
Benjamin also turned 4 months old on Monday! I don't know how that happened but it did!
Wednesday the boys had speech for the second time, actually it was James first session with his therapist. The boys are having fun with their speech therapy and even though they are just starting they are slowly starting progress. After Speech we scooted over to the rec center for the boys last swim lesson of this session (they will continue next week at the same level). Their lesson went well and I'm a little sad for them because the two other boys in their class are moving up to the next level and I feel like they have been a good influence on the boys. But during the lesson the boys, especially Will was participating more and more!
On Thursday we dropped the boys off at school in the morning and Ellie, Benjamin and I can home to clean up a bit and as we were leaving to pick up the boys my friend Alex texted and asked if we wanted to go to the aquarium. Usually after the boys have school we come home and just play and relax but I decided to go with her to the aquarium and I'm so glad that we did! We had a great trip to the aquarium, we explored parts of the aquarium we haven't in a while, no one really needed any redirection or reprimanding and we just had lots of fun with our friends. I love when we get to spend time together making fun memories!
Friday was another fun day with our friends. We started the morning off going to a donut shop followed by going to the pool. We spent two hours at the pool playing with our friends. The kids spent most of the time in the kiddie pool with their friends and even went into the big pool a few times with their puddle-jumpers on, which I was so proud of because their fear of the pool as been so big lately!
Saturday was a great day, my parents came to visit!! Im so excited that they are here for a visit! I treasure each time they are here!
