Weekly Highlights: April 26 - May 2
9:53 PMWelcome back to another week in Quarantine life! We just finished week 7 of quarantine and I think we're doing ok!
Sunday
Sunday was Ellie's half birthday! I can't believe she's two and a half. She has grown so much in the past six months.
We spent the afternoon planting our new two tomato plants and little basil plant. Will and James were so excited to plant them. Chris had gone to Home Depot for me the day before and picked up the plants I asked for so they were really looking forward to it.
Will and James asked to sleep together for the first time. This didn't last long they were back in their own beds before I came back to sit while they fall asleep.
Monday
Benjamin turned seven months old on Monday.
Also Ellie went to bed 2.5 and woke up a teenager! She just looks so old to me in this picture!
Tuesday
Benjamin pulled himself to stand up on Tuesday morning. He was so proud of himself it was so cute!
The kids used dot markers during their "school" time and Ellie painted her cheeks and she ended up looking kind of like a clown, haha. Then while we were playing outside she put an empty pot on her head like a hat.
We spent the afternoon outside and I ended up pulling the kids around the yard in a cardboard box.
Benjamin was so sleepy I was able to play him down on the trampoline!
Wednesday
In the morning we did school and then James had speech over zoom. (I'm not sure if we are going to continue with James' new therapist). After finishing speech we scooted outside to clean out my car because it was going to be towed. This task was made a little more challenging since the doors wouldn't open. The boys had to climb in through the front through and hand out all the stuff to me.
The excitement of the day was actually watching my car get towed. (I'm very glad that it turned out that my cars battery had just died suddenly and that messed up how the computer in the car was communicating and not something worse).
Benjamin had egg and avocado for dinner and ended up rubbing them in his eyes. I think his eyes just didn't like having the egg and avocado in them but for a small amount of time I was worried he might be having a small allergic reaction.
Thursday
We spent a lot of time outside. We played out in the front yard in the morning and then went out to the driveway to draw pictures where my car usually is. James drew a spider and William drew a t.v. and clickers (and extra clickers, haha).
Benjamin's first time riding in the wagon!
Brando is so strange, he napped on top of all Ellie's baby doll stuff on top of the trampoline and then went to nap in the reusable bags in the pantry.
After dinner we headed back outside to play and run around. We ended up running around and rolling around on the grass and wrestling.
Friday
We spent a lot of time outside again. The weather was beautiful and sitting outside with the kids made me really appreciate where we are living right now. I'm thankfully that during these times of sheltering in place we get to live in a place were the weather is beautiful and not super hot and we can enjoy the time outside. I gave Ellie, Will and James piggy back rides around the house which was fun. I'm not sure I've ever really given the boys piggy back rides. James liked it when I ran around the house and would tell me to go as fast as I could. William on the other hand didn't want me to go too fast and would ask that I walk.
The boys had a campout on their floor.
Saturday
I started off the day getting to sleep in, which was exciting. After getting up and getting Benjamin some breakfast we headed outside for a little playing. I set up the kids with a bin of soap and water to clean their toys. Even Benjamin wanted to get in on the action splashing and playing in the water. Then we had lunch out on the patio. And after we played a game and worked on being good sports when we don't win.
I told Braxton to get off Benjamin's bed and he went and curled up in this basket instead!
In the evening I set the kids up with play dough on the patio. We haven't done play dough in over a year so the kids were very excited about it. I kind of wish I had placed something under the table (hopefully I can figure out how to get play dough off the patio!). Benjamin again wanted to join in. He just doesn't want to be left out of anything!
