Ellie | Ten Month Update
9:54 PM
My sweet Ellie Estelle is now ten months old. We are now two months away from Ellie's first birthday! I have no idea how this happened. Ellie has changed so much this month. She wants to keep up with her brothers so badly.
Couldn't pick just one this month (She's just too cute!)
Ellie Loves: The bounce house, her baby doll, bath time/water, music and dancing
Height: Approx. 28.75 inches
Weight: Approx. 18.2 lbs
Sleep. What is sleep? Ellie's sleep has slowly been getting better but is still not close to sleeping through the night. She is still getting up once a night on a good night and three times on a not so great night.
Ellie has actually started cutting teeth this month and teething seems to bother her. (This is new for me since I never knew Will and James were teething until I saw new teeth in their mouths). She has cut 3 teeth this month and each time it meant several nights of Ellie being up at least 3 times and having difficulty falling back to sleep. These nights have led to an extra tired mommy.
Eat
Not much has changed in this category this month. Ellie continues to love eating. She eats breakfast and dinner everyday with two or three snacks, she also eats lunch somedays depending on what we are up to during the day.
Ellie continues to nurse when she wakes up in the morning, before both naps and bedtime. She will also nurse when she wakes up from her naps sometimes and then randomly through out the day at times.
Development/Play
What a month Ellie has had. She is changing so much and while I'm loving watching her meet these new milestones it also makes me a little sad. I want her to stay her sweet baby self just a little longer. Time goes by way to quickly for my liking sometimes and I just want to soak up all the sweet moments I can with Ellie while she's still little.
New this month
- The biggest thing this month for Ellie is probably the fact that Ellie took her first steps!! She started trying to take steps on 8/8 so she was only about 9.5 months old. She took 5 steps towards me. (This was super exciting and a little sad since Daddy was away, and actually still isn't back yet, so he missed her first steps)
- Ellie has learned to give hugs and kisses this month. It is so sweet for her to lean in to give me a kiss or when she wraps her arms around my neck and squeezes as tight as she can. She will give me the best hugs when she gets up in the morning or from her naps. She has also been giving out hugs to a few of her little friends.
- Ellie is now waving both hi and bye. She will vocalize "hhhhhhha" and wave her little hand. She will do this unprompted throughout the day, to strangers in the store, and I love to hear her little voice from the back of the car when I say "Hi Ellie" and she responds with a little "hhhhhha".
- This Month Ellie got three teeth. Her bottom two teeth and her top left side tooth. I was wondering how her teeth would come in. Both Will and James' teeth came in with their upper side teeth coming in first before the upper center teeth (which is the way my teeth came in as a baby) so I wondered if that is how Ellie's teeth would come in also. And it seems like her teeth are coming in like their teeth did.
- This month Ellie has learned to play both the kazoo and the recorder this month. We have a little music set and Ellie figured out that the kazoo and recorder both made noise after watching some of our friends playing them. She picked them up started playing them. It is so cute!
- Ellie loves music and dancing! Anytime she hears any music, and I mean any music including the music our washer and dryer play when they finish, she will bounce up and down and get really excited!
Dear Ellie
My sweet girl how have ten months already gone by! I don't know if I can explain how much joy you bring to our family. You continue to be so sweet and loving. You really are usually so happy, anytime you are upset or cranky I know something must be wrong with you because you that is not your personality. You have started teething this month and your teeth are not your friend. Thankfully they don't seem to bother you too much during the day but at night it is definitely making it hard to sleep. I feel like you do things so early, this month you took our first steps! I couldn't believe it!! You were only about 9 1/2 months old which is so early!! You desperately want to keep up with your brothers, not wanting to be left behind! You have started giving out hugs and kisses this month and I can't get enough of your little hugs when you wrap your arms around my neck. Ellie I can't wait to see what this next month has in store for you! I love watching you grow and learn!
I love you so much Ellie. I am so blessed to be your mommy!!
