Ellie | Eleven Month Update

I may be a puddle of tears over here. How is my baby eleven months old! We are counting down the weeks/days until she's one. I'm not sure how time is passing so quickly, but I would really appreciate it if it would slooooow down!!

Height: Approx. 29.5 in

Weight: Approx. 19.2 lbs

Sleep:

Sleep for Ellie has not improved this month at all really. She continues to wake up several times a night wanting to nurse. She is continuing to cut teeth this month and that seems to bother her a lot at night. It took several weeks for her to cut her upper right side tooth and she would wake up crying inconsolably.

Someday she will sleep well, but that day is not here yet. So I will continue to survive on 3-4 hour stretches of sleep and lots and lots of coffee!!

Eat:

Ellie loves to eat! She actually chased me around the kitchen yelling at me until I put her up in here high chair for breakfast. She will eat basically anything I put in front of her, except for bananas this month. The past few times I gave her bananas she would put a piece in her mouth and then take it out and feed it and the rest of the pieces on her tray to the dogs.

Ellie continues to nurse several times throughout the day: When she wakes up, before nap in the morning, before nap in the afternoon, when she wakes up from nap, before bed and then anytime she wakes up during the night and if she is cranky during the day she might get another nursing session.

Play/Development:

Ellie has been so much fun this month. She is really starting to play and show preferences for certain things. Ellie has three real loves this month: Water/ her water table, the dogs, and babydolls. Ellie loves pushing her babydoll in the stroller.

Things new this month:

Ellie made herself belly laugh this month by trying to suck on my mouth and nose. She thought she was making a little joke. It was so cute and funny because she was making herself laugh by doing something she thought was funny!
Ellie started climbing up on things this month. She will climb up on the little play table chairs and then climb onto the table.
Last month Ellie started taking steps, but this month Ellie has stopped crawling and only walks now. She continues to amazing me with how strong she is and the amount of balance she has for how young she is.
We went to the zoo a few times this month and Ellie actually noticed the animals. Her reaction was so sweet. You could tell her mind was like "I have never seen anything in the world like this! What is that?!?”
Ellie cut two new teeth this month: her top right side tooth and left top center tooth.

Language/Comprehension:

When is comes to Ellie's language and comprehension skills I'm pretty impressed. Ellie has several word attempts that she uses consistently. The words she tries to say are: ni-ni (night-night), nu-nu (for nursing), daw (dog), ew, mama, and dada.

Ellie is able to follow simple one step directions. If I ask her to give something to her dad or brothers she will. She will also find her babydoll when asked.

Dear Ellie Bellie

My sweet sweet goobs, how are you eleven months old? Where has the time gone? You continue to bring so much joy to our family. You continue to have the happiest personality. I have never seen a little person who loves babydolls and dogs as much as you do. If we walk down an aisle in a store that has dolls in it you will start waving and saying "hi" When the dogs are in the room you start "daw, daw, daw". You will randomly give them hugs through out the day, you are so sweet to them. You are definitely my child, you have a special love for animals! You know your mind Ellie and will find a way to let mommy know what you want. You love acting like your big brothers whether that is trying to wear their helmets or trying to ride their bikes/scooters, chasing them, pushing their babydoll strollers. I kind of feel like you have skipped being a baby, I'm almost positive you think you are two. I am so blessed that I get to be your mommy! I can't believe we will be celebrating your first birthday so soon!!
