Meeting Baby Ellie
5:01 PMSoon after I found out I was pregnant with our third baby I knew that I wanted to have pictures taken of Will and James getting to meet their new sibling for the first time. I knew that this was going to be a special time for our family and they were memories that I was going to want to remember for a lifetime. We have had family photos taken a few times by a wonderful photographer and I am now lucky enough to call her my friend. I knew that I wanted ask Toni to take the photos in the hospital of the boys first meeting Ellie.
I had a vision in my head of what I was hoping the photos would look like and Toni far exceeded my expectations. When I first saw the photos, filled with postpartum hormones, they brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy we had these photos taken, I will cherish them forever!
The boys did amazing meeting Ellie for the first time. When I was pregnant I wasn't sure how much the boys actually understood about there being a baby in my belly. But after they met Ellie I think they had more of an understanding than I thought. They just seemed to accept that the baby in the hospital room was the same baby we had been talking about being in my belly. They both wanted to give her kisses and Will asked to hold her. I am so proud of how well Will and James are embracing their new roles as big brothers!
