3 Months, a quarter of a year, 13 weeks; that is how old my sweet baby boys are! Time is going by too quickly. I feel like my boys have grown so much this month and are no longer newborns but really starting to be babies now. Every day it seems I am discovering something new about them.

The boys did not have a doctors appointment this month so I attempted to weigh and measure them at home so these stats are only approximations
James: 3 months
Weight: approx. 11 lbs (2 months: 9lbs, 1 month: 6lbs 13oz, birth: 5lbs 9oz)
Height: approx. 23 inches ( 2 months: 21.5in, 1 month: 20in, birth: 18.5in)
William: 3 months
Weight: approx. 11 lbs (2 months: 9lbs 6oz, 1 month: 7lbs 6oz, birth: 5lbs 13oz)
Height: approx. 23 inches ( 2 months: 21.5in, 1 month: 20.5in, birth: 18.5in)
EAT
The boys are still rockstar eaters! They love to eat and will nurse any where from 10 minutes up to about 25-30 minutes depending on their moods. The boys have 7 feedings a day right now. At the moment we have dropped the middle of the night feeding but they will wake up sometimes for their paci because it has fallen out. Their feedings now are 7:00-7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:00-4:30, 6:00-6:30, 8:00-8:30 and 10:00-10:30. Their finally feeding is a bottle of breast milk and they get between 5-6oz in the bottle. They love their bottle at bed time and will drain them in 10-15 minutes. I now believe the associate the bottle with bed time. We have a routine where they get their diaper changed, we give them gas drops to help with tummy bubbles, we put on their bibs and then receive their bottles. If they are really fussy and you give them the gas drops and put on their bibs they calm down knowing their bottle is coming soon!
SLEEP
The boys continue to be pretty good sleepers for the most part. We still are not technically sleeping through the night yet, but I think we are on the way. Since we have dropped the middle of the night feeding they will wake up every so often but are pacified with their wubbies and will go back to sleep with no problem.
They take a big nap in the morning after their first feeding for usually 1.5-2 hours. They are now taking that nap in their cribs. (They continue to sleep in their rock n plays at night next to our bed but I want them to get used to sleeping in their cribs so it won't be a shock to them when we eventually move them to their own room.) They will nap for approximately 30-45 minutes between their other feedings usually in their bouncy seats or in the swing. Most days we take a walk after their 1:30 feeding (as long as the weather is nice) and they will fall asleep in their carseats and nap for 1-1.5
hours before their next feeding.
GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
The boys continue to work hard during tummy time and I'm starting to see some improvement with how much they can pick their heads up. They have great head control when they are being held or when they are sitting up in the bumbo or jumperoo, but I feel like they are somewhat lazy when it comes to tummy time. They have not yet learn to roll over from their tummy to back but I think that will come when they start picking up their heads better. (My mom and a few of my friends keep reminding me the boys were born 4 weeks early so these skills may be a little behind for them)
They haven't started to reach out and grab stuff just yet but I have noticed them start to try and use their hands. They are still holding their hands mostly in a clenched fist but will try to use their fists to push their paci back in their mouth if it falls out and while they are nursing they try to use their hands to grab ahold of me.
We are officially out of newborn clothes and diapers. I packed away all of their newborn clothes the other week and it made me sad putting those tiny outfits away. And the boys are now wearing size 1 diapers. This is actually our second attempt to transition to size 1 diapers and it is going much better. (The first attempted ended with two big blow out diapers due to the sides being to loose and in emergency run to Target for more newborn size diapers)
The boys experienced their first colds this month. This was probably more difficult for me then it was for them. James started out with the cold first and made me so nervous I had him sleeping on my chest for 3 nights because his nose was so stuffed up I was worried about his breathing. James seems pretty much unfazed by his cold, Will on the other hand hated the cold and you could tell he did not like having his nose stuffed up. The Nose Frida, baby Saline Nasal Spray and a Humidifier were our saving graces during their colds.
This past month William and James have found their voices. They have started cooing and will hold a conversation with you telling you all about their day. It is so cute and I love hearing their little voices. They also have started to really support their weight on their legs for an extended period of time. This prompted us to get them a jumperoo and they love it. They are still a little too short and require a pillow underneath is but they will sit and bounce in it smiling away.

Love you more every day my sweet William
